03.03.2023 - Cong Forest, Ireland

We Eloped!

On the 28th of February, twenty twenty-three Jack and Ava flew off to Ireland to elope. They stayed at the Ashford Castle in Galway county and got married in secret on the third day of March, twenty twenty-three.

They shared their vows underneath the ivy-covered canopy of ancient sessile oak trees in the Cong forest behind the Castle. The tranquil ceremony included birdsong from the forest conopy and well-wishes from the few Irish locals who strolled by.
the setting.
The Cong forest is a short drive away from the castle grounds. The forest is right beyond an ancient monastery that is in the process of being restored. Ivy engolfs the forest floor and many of the tree trunks that surrounded the couple as they said their vows. The small monk fishing cottage on the water ovelooked the magical woods.
What would a wedding be without music?

Anyone who knows Jack knows that his favorite movie series is the Lord of The Rings. He's made Ava watch the extended movies with him countless times and can quote every line of every movie.

The "Concerning Hobbits" song was playing as they were getting ready and as they were sayiong their vows.

The "eye of Sauron" song did pop up once or twice which gave them a good laugh, but then was quickly skipped on to something more peaceful.
Ava and Jack exchanged handwritten vows, making promises of everlasting love, laughter and friendship to each other.
the vows.
the rings.
Jack gave Ava a plaitnum ring with a white, radiant-cut diamond set with simple prongs.

Ava gave Jack a plaitnum wedding band with a delicate milgrain detailing around the edges.
the end...?
Despite being thoundands of miles away from our friends and family, you were in our hearts and minds on this very special day. We held your love deep within in our hearts while we spoke our vows and talked of you as we cellebrated.
Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.

–Emily Brontë

If I know what love is, it is because of her.
